Pierre L. Costello, 62, of Spotsylvania County died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Costello was a retired First Sergeant with the U.S. Army having served in two tours in Vietnam and later in Desert Storm for which he was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and numerous other citations. He later retired as a corrections officer for Prince William County and then retired from Quantico National Cemetery.
Mr. Costello was a member of Rolling Thunder Virginia Chapter #3. He was very proud of his American Indian heritage and has reached the end of his trail.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ann Costello; three children, Kelly Samora and her husband, Larry, of Downers Grove, Illinois, Kristi Tappan and her husband, Jayson of Fredericksburg and Patrick Costello and his wife, Jennifer of Niceville, Florida; six grandchildren, Dylan, Peyton, Isaly, Cole, Maia, and Crew; sister, Lavonne Bergan of Huntington Beach, California; brother, Michael Predmore of Spring Valley California; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Maggie.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 2 at Quantico National Cemetery.
