Dr. Richard W. Etter, 53, of Spotsylvania, died Monday, December 21 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Dr. Etter had a broad education with a Doctorate in Public Administration, three Masters Degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and post graduate certificates in Information Strategy and National Security Policy.
Richard had over 34 years of service with the Department of the Navy. His current position was Director of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Audrey. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Etter and his brothers, Robert, Raymond and Ronald Etter. In-laws, Jerry and Norma Sharf, Elisa Yanez and Barrie Nichols; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved pets, Eddie, Emily, Lucy and Millie.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Tuesday, December 29, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will be private.
