Michael Donald Plotts, 48, of Stafford County, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at University of Virginia Hospital.
Michael served with the US Marshals Service as a Senior Inspector and previously worked as an instructor for the Marshals at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia and as the Deputy Commander of the Marshals Arrest Response Team in Los Angeles. He had served as a tank officer in the U.S.. Army, achieving the rank of Major, and was the honor graduate of his Los Angeles Police Department Academy class. Michael was a member of Aquia Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Plotts; his daughters, Morgan and Madeleine Plotts; his mother, Yone Plotts; his brother, James A. Plotts, his sister, Patricia Chandler; two nephews; and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, February 26 at Aquia Episcopal Church. Interment will be at 1 PM, Monday, March 2, at Quantico National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, February 25 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Division of Development, 400 7th St. NW Ste. 300, Washington, DC 20004.
