Jo Ann Shelton, formally of Stafford, VA, died Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA. She was also a former resident of Hollidaysburg, PA before her passing.
Mrs Shelton was born on August 2, 1933 in Indian Head, Maryland, the 2nd daughter of the late Paul Raymond Keller & Mary Elizabeth Hodges Keller of Waldorf, Md. Along with her father & older sister, Mary Louise, She is welcomed in Heaven by her husband of 29 years, Gene Francis Shelton Sr. who passed in 1983 and her companion of 12 years, Jerry "Sonny" Varner, who passed in 2001.
She will be remembered & missed as a loving daughter, sister, mother & grandmother by all she leaves behind.
In addition to her mother, surviving her are her sisters Betty Jane Keller of Waldorf, MD. and Carol Jean Lucas of Potomac Heights, MD. Also surviving are her children, Sandra Lee Jenkins and George Garrett of Front Royal, VA, Gene Francis Shelton Jr. and wife, Virginia, of Flinton, PA, Paula Ann Nichols of King George, VA, & Debra Marie Shelton and husband Rick Scites, of Stafford, VA. Surviving grandchildren are Russell Garrett and Kevin Garrett of Front Royal, VA., Arlene Chapman of Winchester, VA., Roxanne Gilkerson, Stacy White, Gene Shelton III, James Shelton, Patricia Maclenhy all of Pennsylvania, Paul W. Nichols Jr of Spotsylvania, VA., Karena Ann Nichols & Ashley Nicole Goff of King George, VA., & Nicole Marie Swink of Stafford, VA. She also leaves 14 great grandchildren and multiple loved ones in PA & VA .
Interment will be private at Oak Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, VA. The family will hold a celebration of her life at Debra Shelton's house at 319 Chatham Heights Road, Stafford, VA on a later date.
